Welcome to Carreghofa Community Council's Website!

The village of Llanymynech straddles the border between Wales and England: Carreghofa Community Council serves the residents on the Welsh side while those in England are covered by Llanymynech and Pant Parish Council. Although divided in administrative terms, Llanymynech is united by a strong sense of community and won the Montgomery Village Award in 2018.

Carreghofa community comprises around 300 households and has a population of 667 (2011 census). Its boundary - outlined on the map below - encompasses the western half of the village, a section of the Montgomery canal and a dramatic rural landscape stretching from the river Vyrnwy to the summit of Llanymynech Hill. The area is rich in industrial heritage, natural history, enterprise and culture: there is much here to explore and enjoy!

Our website aims to highlight the many facets of Llanymynech life, present and past, as well as reporting on the activities of Carreghofa Community Council. Your ideas are welcome: tell us what you'd like to see!
